You are invited to attend a public hearing on the findings of an inventory project. The Alton Historical Commission has been conducting a head-count of sorts in the Middletown Neighborhood recently as a requirement of a grant the city received last year.
The Certified Local Governments Grant requires the city to gather information on the properties in Middletown, which the city's Deputy Director of Development and Housing Matt Asselmeier tells The Big Z was last inventoried in 1977.

He hopes the city's residents will take advantage of the opportunity to share the history of their homes so that the city may more accurately tell the story of the Middletown District. The public hearing will be held March 8th at 7pm in Alton City Council Chambers.
