For the first time in nearly six years, Alton Middle School football players will play home games on "home" turf. This comes after workers completed extensive renovations to the old Alton High School practice field that sits behind AMS.
The project included groundwork and reseeding of the field, the installation of new goal posts, bleachers, water fountains, a new fence around the perimeter of the field and a new scoreboard.

Previously the "home" games for the middle school football team were held at North Elementary in Godfrey. By renovating the field and hosting middle school games at the school, the district will be able to save money on busing costs and also bring in some extra funding through concession sales.
