A Mexican national who was indicted with 26 other individuals and charged with being part of a large cocaine distribution organization has been sentenced to a little more than 11 years in federal prison. 31-year old Raul Martin Ortega-Zepada, who is also known as Raul Gonzalez-Gonazalez is a citizen of Mexico, who was living in St. Louis at the time of his arrest. He had previously entered a plea of guilty in the case was sentenced on Friday and will serve 135 months in federal prison and 5 years of supervised release after being charged with one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine and one count of entry into the United States without inspection. He was also ordered to forfeit three firearms and $336,000 in cash to the United States.
Following the completion of his sentence, he will be deported from the United States. He is the 21st person to be sentenced in connection with this case, the five remaining individuals are still awaiting sentencing.
