Hopping on the Metro to cross the Illinois- Missouri line could soon cost an extra dime each way. The public transit company is floating the idea to see how riders will respond. They're holding a public hearing at the East Saint Louis City Hall on April 16th at five o'clock. Officials say they need the extra cash to help pay for operating expenses.

The long range plan is to up rider fees by a dime every two years. If they decide to move forward with the increase it will likely go into effect on July 1st.
