The St. Louis Cardinals are preparing for the home opener later this month by tightening security around Busch Stadium.  The ballpark recently installed 50 walk-through metal detectors at every entrance gate.  This move puts the Cards in compliance with the Major League Baseball security requirement of scanning every fan before they walk into the stadium.

Also, Busch will open its gates 90 minutes before game time Monday through Thursday.  Gates will still open two hours before games held Friday through Sunday.  Opening day for the Cardinals in St. Louis is Monday, April 13, against Milwaukee.  The Cards open the season tomorrow night in Chicago against the Cubs.
