Grafton Mayor Tom Thompson is feeling encouraged following a special Saturday meeting of the Grafton City Council. Nearly two months ago a faction of the council had hoped to pursue an Illinois Attorney General's investigation into the mayor's office, a suggestion that came out of that meeting has been put into effect.
That suggestion was for the city to contact the Illinois Municipal League to send someone in to help smooth out the differences between many aldermen and the Mayor's office. Mayor Tom Thompson tells The Big Z their first meeting Saturday was a good start.

Thompson called the meeting "congenial," and they covered ways of improving communication. He says all agreed they need to get Grafton "moving in a positive direction."
