You could be tricked into giving businesses permission to call you and pitch their service if you fill out a form that is being seen in some area mailboxes. This comes as a mailing offering free information on changes in Medicare, Social Security or other government benefits. In many cases, the mailings are designed to generate leads for insurance sales representatives, according to a representative of the Better Business Bureau.
Investigator Bill Smith says this is their way to get to you, even if you have registered your number with the Do Not Call List.

The agency has issued warnings on similar mailings in the past. Smith says you should be wary of any mailer offering free publications, information or gifts. These often are inducements to get you to provide personal contact information.
