The State of Illinois is hosting a public forum on the topic of medical marijuana. Whether you are a potential patient or caregiver, or are applying to host a cultivation center or dispensary, state officials say this meeting will have something for you.
The application process for businesses interested in growing or selling the product begins September 2, as does the application period for those with the illnesses covered under the new law. Melanie Arnold, spokesman for the program, says no matter your interest, you are welcome to attend the event.

Patients with one of three-dozen medical conditions, which include cancer, multiple sclerosis, and lupus, are eligible for the program. The meeting will be held at the Kenneth Hall State Regional Office Building. That is where IDOT and the Illinois State police are headquartered. It’s located at 1102 Eastport Plaza Place, and the meeting begins at 9:30am.
