Gas prices climbed to over $4.00 a gallon early in 2012, and have been on a roller-coaster ride ever since.  With prices expected to continue to fluctuate, officials with Madison County Transit expect an continued increase in ridership.  They have been encouraging residents to consider riding the bus, carpooling or forming a van-pool to save on fuel costs.

MCT Spokesman SJ Morrison says the higher prices are being reflected in the numbers of people using their service.

Morrison comments

He says with ridership anticipated to continue to increase, questions will also arise from those not familiar with the service.  He says you can find out more by logging onto the MCT website, or by calling 797-4600.
