Madison County Transit is changing the way stops are made in Bethalto, beginning in about a week and a half. Starting January 8, MCT will transition to designated stops on the route of the #12 Bethalto Shuttle. Agency spokesman SJ Morrison says the #12 will only pick-up and drop-off at locations where MCT Bus Stop signs have been placed.

Morrison comments

MCT is in the process of transitioning all of its fixed routes from a "flag-stop" to a "bus stop" system, to ensure that stop areas are safe for the bus to load and unload passengers. Morrison says ridership on MCT's fixed routes grew for the 12th straight month in November. There are other changes to other routes in the county.
