Missouri's most controversial race ends in a victory for Claire McCaskill.  She defeated Republican challenger Todd Akin with 55-percent of the vote.  Akin made headlines for his remarks about "legitimate rape." In her acceptance speech, McCaskill dedicated the win to her mother, who died last week.

Missourians re-elect Governor Jay Nixon to a second term in office.  Nixon garnered 55-percent of the vote, besting Republican challenger Dave Spence.
