State lawmakers have given Governor Pat Quinn a little more time to give his annual budget address, and that’s not sitting well with State Senator Sam McCann (R-Carlinville). The governor requested the address be moved from February 19th to March 26th to prepare what will reportedly be a five-year spending plan.

The governor’s budget address serves as a starting point for the legislature to put together a budget for the next fiscal year. McCann says Quinn has had a full year to prepare for this speech, so the delay is not warranted.
