Police are still investigating the most recent shooting at CTW's lounge a couple of weeks ago, but have run into a lack of cooperation on the part of both witnesses and the victim. There has been a history of shootings, stabbings and brawls at the establishment on Belle Street. The incident in the early morning hours of March 6 may result in some kind of disciplinary action against the bar.

But, that is contingent upon the findings of the Mayor and Liquor Commissioner, Tom Hoechst. He says the owner claims the disturbance spilled outside into the parking lot.

Hoechst comments

The victim, identified as 32 year old Latouche Shaw of Alton, was hospitalized in St. Louis with non-life threatening injuries after reportedly being shot in the abdomen. Authorities say they were notified of the shooting by St. Anthony's Hospital personnel after Shaw was dropped off by a friend at the emergency room. A police officer was reportedly patrolling near the tavern at the time of the shooting, but authorities were not made aware of the incident until called by the hospital.
