Alton’s mayor is defending a proposed $18,000 funding cut to Alton Main Street.  Brant Walker says with cuts in the city budget inevitable, he feels working together with the Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the River Bend Growth Association would be an acceptable solution to funding challenges.

Walker tells The Big Z working with just the CVB could help make up about $11,000 of the $18,000 Main Street would lose with the line item cut in the budget.
