The Bethalto Village Board has begun the process of updating the village’s comprehensive master plan by hiring an economic developing firm to oversee the process. Moran Economic Development will work with the Bethalto Plan Commission to design what the plan will look like.
Mayor Steve Bryant appointed trustees Bob DiPaolo and Gary Bost to represent the board during the update process. He says storm water management will be among the major items the update focuses on but reminds that the public will have a chance to voice their concerns as well.
Bryant says that DiPaolo is one of the best planners in the village, noting his work on the village’s first master plan and he also expects Bost to learn a lot from this experience.
In other business, the board members approved a 2nd addition to the Lowranche Subdivision and an addition to the Meisenheimer Subdivision. The board also voted to move forward with the demolition of the property located at 408 East Bethalto Drive.
