Construction crews are cutting off utilities to portions of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton today in preparation for a remodeling project that will last well into the school year. Morrisey Construction submitted the winning bid to "freshen up" the gymnasium and surrounding areas. Morrisey's Vice President Mike Morrisey describes what they will be doing:

They will also be installing air conditioning in the gym and cafeteria. With approval from the Springfield Diocese, the locker room areas may also be renovated. He says the timeline is to have all of the work done late this year or early next year. Once school begins, students will be rerouted around the construction zone. The project will cost about $1.25-million.
