The Illinois State Police recently conducted a joint hazardous materials enforcement detail with the Illinois Department of Transportation.  On September 28 & 29, a combination of ISP officers and IDOT inspectors conducted nearly 1,700 Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspections on Interstates 24, 57, and 64, and identified more than 1,200 violations.

State Police Master Sergeant Mike Link tells The Big Z 112 vehicles and 34 drivers were placed out of service following the inspections.

This detail was part of a Tri-State Hazardous Materials Enforcement Detail.  Both the Missouri Highway Patrol and the Indiana State Police conducted similar patrols on portions of the I-64 corridor.
