State legislators know they may be called back to Springfield to reconvene for a special session to deal with pension reform, but one local lawmaker is making use of this time away from the state capitol to connect with his constituents. State Senator Andy Manar is hosting a series of "Capitol on your Corner" meetings around the 48th District to hear from citizens with concerns about how the state is being run.
He believes the pension crisis and lack of jobs will be among the hot topics. Locally, a meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 25 in Carlinville at the Lewis & Clark Campus, and in Brighton on Thursday, August 15 at Village Hall. All meetings run from 6-8pm.
