Lawmakers will return to Springfield tomorrow for a special session in hopes of finding a solution to the state's looming pension crisis. State Senator Andy Manar, a Bunker Hill Democrat says he doesn't expect a deal that solves the pension problem will be passed but that he remains hopeful that some progress will be made.

Manar says that the process for fixing the problem would be helped tremendously if the Governor would outline some parameters of the pension legislation he'd like to sign into law.

Manar Comments

Governor Quinn's plan to fix the problem calls for the Senate to hold another vote on S.B. 1, which has already failed in the Senate. Manar says that idea might be nothing more than taking a handful of darts and throwing them at a dart board to see if anything sticks.
