One Illinois lawmaker is hopeful that a meeting Tuesday in Chicago between legislative leaders and Governor Bruce Rauner brought the State closer to the end of the budget impasse. State Senator Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) says the measure approved Monday releasing funds to pay for things like road salt and lottery winnings was likely a result of last week's budget meeting - the first in five months - and he hopes Tuesday's leads to more progress.
But Manar says a simple idea could have solved all of this months ago.
