Authorities have released more information on an incident last weekend in Granite City. The Madison County State’s Attorney has charged 52 year old Thomas Noser of Granite City after he allegedly attacked his mother and another family member with a baseball bat. He was shot by police after reportedly threatening them with a knife.
Noser faces multiple charges including two counts of attempted first-degree murder. A 76-year-old woman and another victim were found with non-life-threatening injuries at a home in the 24-hundred block of Delmar last Saturday night. A 9 year old boy who was at the house at the time of the incident was not harmed. Madison County Court documents say Noser allegedly charged at police with a knife, and after refusing to drop the weapon, he was shot twice by a Granite City Police officer. Once out of the hospital, Noser will be transported to the Madison County Jail. The other family members remain hospitalized.
