A Granite City man is the latest person to be sentenced in connection with a large cocaine distribution organization. 36 year old Jaime T. Hernandez has been sentenced to serve 10 years in federal prison, which will be followed by five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a special assessment of $100 and forced to forfeit $231,000 to the United States.
Hernandez pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine in September of 2011, and was the last of his 25 conspirators to be charged. All others have also pleaded guilty to the charges, however there is still one person awaiting trial.
