An Alton man will be sentenced in September after pleading guilty this week to a firearm offense.   34 year old Jared R. Henry admitted to possessing a weapon when police searched a home in October 2012 after receiving a tip about possible drug activity.  Henry was a previously convicted felon at the time of his arrest, and could face up to ten years in prison.

Henry was arrested at a home in Alton after police received a tip about possible drug activity at the residence.  Authorities took Henry into custody at the time and also found five different firearms following a search of the home.  In addition to the prison sentence, he could also face a fine and will be placed on probation following his release.  The case was heard in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis.
