A Missouri man has pleaded guilty in a sex trafficking case out of the Metro East. 28-year-old Marcus Thompson of Park Hills, Missouri, plead guilty to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor by force, fraud or coercion. He faces 15 years to life in prison for the crime.
Federal authorities that investigated the case say Thompson, and his wife and co-defendant Robin Thompson, advertised, recruited and transported minor females from Illinois for the purposes of commercial sex acts in Florida, Georgia and Louisiana. The incidents were uncovered when one of the victims went to police in St. Louis claiming she was taken off the street while in Madison. The FBI helped investigate the case.
