Charges have been filed against a Jersey County man accused of being found outside the home of the person who had an order of protection against him. While he was there, police say 37-year-old Dunstin Honchell of Dow was allegedly in possession of weapons and drugs.
Honchell is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of weapons by a felon and violation of an order of protection. Authorities say at the time of his arrest on April 30 in East Alton, Honchell allegedly possessed cocaine and heroin, brass knuckles, a shotgun, a flare gun and BB gun and other drug paraphernalia. His wife filed an order of protection against him on March 31 claiming physical abuse and stalking, but on May 19 asked that the order be rescinded because it is no longer needed. Bond for Honchell was set at $75,000.
