A Granite City man is accused of posing as law enforcement to get information on his ex-wife.  37-year-old Jason Yarber of the 2600 block of Logan Street is charged with felony false impersonation of a police officer.  He allegedly knocked on a the door of a Granite City home last week, telling the homeowner he was working a case at a nearby home--which happened to belong to his ex-wife.

The homeowner called police because she felt the situation was suspicious.  The Madison County Sheriff's Department reports Yarber (pictured) allegedly left his cell phone number with the homeowner, which police later tracked to him.  He was contacted at his home last Friday and taken into custody pending the charges that were filed on Monday.  In addition to the false impersonation charge, Yarber is also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having less than a gram of Meth in his possession.  He is being held at the Madison County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
