Police have identified a man found dead in Columbia, Illinois, over the weekend.  The body of 45-year-old Craig Wood was discovered Sunday in his home on Bluffside Road after a concerned relative contacted cops when they hadn't heard from him.  While officials haven't said how Wood died, the Major Case Squad has been called in and is treating the death as a homicide.

The additional law enforcement presence was called in to assist Columbia Police with the investigation because it was suspicious.  Investigators found Wood's body inside his home after someone made a welfare request to police.   That's when they found Wood inside the residence.  He reportedly was a divorced father of two who lived alone in the home other than when his children visited.  Wood worked for a local used car dealer and attended schools in Belleville as a young person.
