Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan wants more time to decide whether to file an appeal against a concealed carry ruling, which requires the state to pass a law by June 9th.  Right now, Madigan has until May 23rd to file a petition but she wants the date pushed back to June 24th.  The request doesn't impact the original June 9th date so lawmakers are racing against the clock to reach a deal.

Otherwise, people will automatically be allowed to carry any gun they want in public, under what's known as "constitutional carry."
