Chicago will be the final resting place for millions-of-dollars-worth of visual arts memorabilia. Film creator George Lucas has decided to build a museum on nearly 18-acres of land on the lakefront near Soldier Field. It'll likely be best known for its collection of "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" memorabilia, but will also carry other well known pieces spanning a century and a half of entertainment.
The Windy City beat out the San Francisco Bay area and Los Angeles in a bid to house the items. The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art could open in Chicago by 2018.
