Residents of Madison County will see a minimal decrease in property taxes during the next fiscal year following the Madison County Board’s unanimous adoption of a tax levy ordinance earlier this week. The measure was approved without question Wednesday evening. Finance Committee Chairman Jack Minner:
Board members also voted to adopt the budget for the coming fiscal year, which totals nearly $124-million. Following the approval of the budget, Minner said that he doesn’t anticipate that the county will have to cut any jobs this year. He also thanked fellow board members for working together to reign in county spending.
