Elijah P. LovejoyThe Elijah P. Lovejoy Memorial Scholarship Program is set for Sunday at 4pm at Alton's Lovejoy Elementary School. The scholarship has been awarded 71 times since 1954.  This year's Winner of the Elijah P. Lovejoy Memorial Scholarship is Jasmine-Kay Johnson, an Alton High Graduate who plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to pursue a degree in Journalism.

Trustee for the Lovejoy Memorial Ed Gray tells The Big Z 2012 Lovejoy Scholarship recipient Gregory Collins will be the featured speaker on Sunday.

Lovejoy Memorial Academic Achievement Award scholarship winners are Andria Pace from Marquette Catholic High School, and Alton High grads John Bohn, Zachary Franke, Ty Loveland, Maika Miller, Sarah Pattan, Halle Rounds, and Jewel Wagner.  They will each receive a non-renewable scholarship in the amount of $3,000.
