Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says every person in Illinois deserves the right to make a decent living and become a part of the state's growing middle class.  In his annual State of the State Address this week, Quinn called for a hike in the minimum wage to at least $10 an hour.  Two local elected officials are commenting on what they took away from Quinn’s speech.

State Senator Bill Haine (D-Alton) says he may favor increasing the minimum wage under the right circumstances.

Quinn says Illinois is making a comeback after falling hard during the economic collapse.  But, Haine says Illinois still has a way to go to create a full economic turnaround.
