The 6th annual Big Gig Local Music Show is Saturday night on 3rd Street in downtown Alton. Area bands will perform on two stages before headliners Aaron Kamm and The One Drops take the stage at 10pm. Admission to the show is free with food and drink for sale.

The band that brings out the biggest group of supporters will be invited back to perform at the Mississippi Earthtones Festival on September 20th at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater. If you attend, or are in downtown Alton over the next few weeks, you might notice what’s called a Yarn Bomb. It’s a public art display of items made of yarn that have been used to decorated some of the 3rd Street area in time for the concerts. Here's the schedule:
