A couple of local lawmakers from opposite sides of the political aisle agree they should not receive a paycheck until a state budget is passed. Over the weekend Illinois Comptroller Leslie Munger announced Sunday that she will begin putting elected officials’ paychecks, including her own, in line with other bills that are backlogged, and State Representative Dan Beiser (D-Alton) says that's fine with him.

Munger says if delaying pay gets lawmakers to pass a budget, that will be an added benefit. State employees will continue to get paid on time.
