Tuesday will be the 14th annual Thanksgiving Outreach at the River of Life Family Church in Alton.  A large Thanksgiving meal will be served free of charge from 3:30-8pm, and the public is invited to partake in the event.  The event has grown each year, with more than 1,400 people expected to attend the event at the facility on Fosterburg Road.

Assistant coordinator Mike Babcock says there is a steady stream of people that come in all afternoon and into the evening.

More than 300 volunteers will help serve the full traditional Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings including desserts.  People are welcome to come in their own vehicles while others can ride busses to the church on Fosterburg Road.  For information on bus pick-up points in Alton, Godfrey, East Alton and Wood River, call 567-3740.
