An attorney at an Alton law firm has been elected second vice president of the Illinois Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Illinois State Bar Association. Perry J. Browder, a shareholder at Simmons Hanly Conroy, recently received the upgrade – he had served as IBF third vice president.
The organization raises money for various charitable activities such as legal aid, children’s programs, and lawyers with disabilities. Browder tells The Big Z he would like to see the organization continue to grow.

He says he has been active on the board for a long time, and viewed it as a compliment when asked to serve. In 2015 the foundation took on the responsibility of a statewide expansion of the Illinois Justice Corps to provide trained part-time student volunteers to serve as guides in courthouses. This year the foundation will distribute more than $850,000 in funds.
