A group of community organizers, leaders, and activists met yesterday in Lincoln Douglas Square. The group came together in response to the violence and injustice that is happening across the county, in hopes of starting a discussion about how to bring about positive change and how to make Alton an example of how communities can thrive.

Alton Mayor Brant Walker told the Big Z how important he felt it was that city officials attended the event.

To end the event, a ribbon was tied around the event goers wrist to symbolize that we are all tied together as one.
