It’s that time of the year again, time to get out and clean up as spring begins to settle in.  The Alton Beautification and Clean City Committee, along with other community organizations, is planning its Spring Litter Cleanup this Saturday, April 25th at 9a.m.

There are several locations where volunteers can meet, pick up gloves and bags, and get directions to areas in need of cleanup.  Alderwoman Carolyn McAfee tells The Big Z that there are plenty of places that especially need attention.

Groups will be departing from Neudecker Insurance at the Corner of Main Street and College Avenue, and in front of Joe K’s Restaurant on State Street.  Volunteers can also pick up gloves and bags from Hellrung Park at 7th and Central and in downtown Alton at 3rd and Belle.  For more information, call 304-4315.
