Starting October 1, some Riverbend residents can start applying for home heating assistance.  Low-income seniors and people with disabilities can submit their applications for the state's LIHEAP program during this special priority period.  There will be opportunities before the end of the year for those with young children, disconnected utilities, and finally all other households before the end of the year.

Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan tells The Big Z the program begins Thursday.
