People who have done some Christmas shopping at Target are being urged to take an extra look at their bank accounts.  The recent security breach has affected customers nationwide, but locally, customers of Liberty Bank appear to have escaped unscathed.  It's due in large part to the security measures they have in place, according to the bank president..

Dale Blachford says the criminals have access to pins and card codes, which can be used to create credit cards that are exactly like owner's card.  The hackers can then use the information to shop anonymously online or create new cards to resell.

Blachford comments

The retail chain has confirmed its system was breached between November 27th and December 15th.  More than 40-million customers' credit and debit card information may have been compromised.
