A measure sponsored by State Representative Dwight Kay of Glen Carbon that would allow the Comptroller's Office to have a more accurate account of outstanding bills is gaining support. HB3985 would change posting requirements by forcing agencies to either submit the bill for payment or return it to the vendor within 25 business days after receiving the initial bill.

Kay says that this is important considering the actions of former Governor Rod Blagojevich.

Kay Comments

The measure has been approved in the Illinois House and will now move onto the Senate.
