A month after announcing that Corporation Counselor Jim Schrempf and City Attorney Megan Williams would become employees of the City, Mayor Brant Walker has changed his tune. Walker now says two will now act as independent contractors.
He says the decision was made after considering one major factor.
Walker also says the decision will not result in any extra expenses or save the city any money.
In other business, council members voted to accept a bid from Seiler Excavating for the installation of storm drain pipe and structures at Taylor Street, approved a resolution allowing the city to pursue the demolition of structure located at 814 Alby Street and approved the demolition of properties located at 317 Dry, 1230 East 6th Street, 606 Wyss Street, and 302 McClure Street.
