A month full of events commemorating Black History Month are set to begin this week at Lewis & Clark Community College. The "Alton African-American Oral History Project" will be seen nightly on LCTV and on the college's website. A series of radio spots will also be broadcast on WBGZ Radio and on the college station throughout the month.
There will also be a series of events on campus. The college's Jared Henings says there will be a variety of entertainment throughout the month.
Events begin Wednesday with the Lamar Harris Ensemble, featuring a trumpeter/DJ/educator showcasing a variety of musical styles. This, and many of the other events in the series, will take place in the Reid Restaurant.
