A month full of events commemorating Black History Month at Lewis & Clark Community College continues this week. Many of the events in the series will take place in the Reid Restaurant or Reid Memorial Library on the school's Godfrey campus. The Mike & Brian Duo will be performing their sax and guitar selections today, and there will be a special lecture on Friday.
The college's Jared Hennings says the variety of entertainment throughout the month included last week's Spirit of Angela Dance Troupe, featuring an interactive dance performance.
The "Alton African-American Oral History Project" is seen nightly on local cable tv. Next week will feature comics, poetry, and a tour of the Underground Railroad locations throughout the Riverbend.
