A month full of events commemorating Black History Month are set to begin next week at Lewis & Clark Community College.  The "Alton African-American Oral History Project" will be seen nightly on local cable TV.  A series of radio spots will also be broadcast right here on Z-1570 and on the college radio station throughout the month.

There will also be a series of events on campus.  The college's Jared Hennings says there will be a variety of entertainment throughout the month.

Hennings comments

Events begin Monday with the film "Mannie Jackson: From Boxcar to Boardrooms."  It will be shown at 7pm at the Wildey Theater in Edwardsville before airing on national television on February 17.  Many of the other events in the series will take place in the Reid Restaurant or Reid Memorial Library on the school's Godfrey campus.
