Lawyers across Illinois are being asked to contribute to a food drive. The Lawyers Feeding Illinois campaign aims to collect food or funds to provide 1 million meals to the needy– but not now. The drive will be Feb. 18-March 1. John Thies, president of the Illinois State Bar Association, explains:
“The concern was that the holiday season leads to a lot of support of food banks around the state, but the period right after the holiday season can be lean, and so as we mapped out the year, this was a really good candidate. It also would permit us to promote it heavily these next couple of months,” he said.
