You can help feed the hungry by participating in a food and fund raising drive that ends tomorrow. Lawyers Feeding Illinois is reaching out to bar associations across the state to try to provide more than one-million meals to the hungry. Locally, the Madison County Bar Association is off to a slow start, but there is time to catch up.
By its very nature, the campaign is looking for a quick influx of cash or food donations. Illinois State Bar Association President John Thies says a little help can go a long way.
Thies comments
There is an estimated 1.9-million Illinoisans who are considered "food insecure," which means at least once a year, a person will not know where their next meal is coming from. Of those, 600,000 are children. For more information on how you can get involved, click on the link: www.lawyersfeedingil.org
