Schnucks has now been sued over a recent rash of cyber-attacks. The company reported yesterday that more than two-million customers may have had their credit-card information compromised over a four-month period. At least 100 people so far have reported unauthorized charges as a result.
Five of those victims have now filed a lawsuit, saying Schnucks failed to secure their private financial information. They're asking for five-million dollars in damages. Customers from 79 of the 100 Schnucks stores in the Midwest may have been impacted, including customers who used debit or credit cards at the Alton, Bethalto and Granite City stores. It's not believed customers at the Godfrey or Edwardsville stores were affected.
