Politics were put aside by recent rivals at a Veterans Day ceremony in Chicago. Both Gov. Pat Quinn and Governor-elect Bruce Rauner were on hand at this morning’s event at Soldier Field. While Rauner did not take the stage, U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk acknowledged him during his remarks.

“I’ve got Governor Rauner, who’s really…has contributed a lot to veterans here,” Kirk said. “I want to thank you, Bruce, for all you’ve done on the giving side.” It was the first time Quinn and Rauner have been at the same event since Election Day, though it appears the two never spoke before or after the ceremony.
