Your income tax return is due one week from today. So far, more than three million Illinois taxpayers have filed their returns, with over 93 percent choosing to do so electronically. State department of revenue spokesperson Sue Hofer says that’s the best way to make sure you return is error-free, and get your refund quickly.
Hofer also recommends low income working families to check if they qualify for the earned income tax credit on both their federal and state returns. The tax filing deadline is Monday, April 15th.
